T-Mobile Infosession & Resume Tips

The SWE-UCLA infosession on October 14, 2010 was a huge success as students ranging from Computer Science Engineering to Electrical Engineering majors crowded into Boelter 5800 to listen to a representative from T-mobile speak about their company. The evening began with a short introduction reminding members of SWE’s upcoming events and the agenda for the night while members filled up on Baja Fresh. Next, Kaplan gave a brief presentation offering their test preparation services to the students. The T-mobile representative then took the floor and gave a very useful PowerPoint presentation on resume Do’s and Don’ts and tips on how to create an effective and interesting resume. This resume workshop outlined the guidelines for resume formatting and content and even warned students to be careful of their electronic resumes (i.e. Facebook or Google). Following the workshop was a presentation on how to apply to jobs and internships for T-mobile and how T-mobile’s main office in Seattle is a great place to work. Finally, the industry representative ended the evening with a Q&A session to review their resumes and answer any questions the students might have. Overall, SWE members came to a productive event, where they were able to improve their resumes and learn about the T-mobile company.
